Yesterday, I saw my second solar farm in Iowa, this time in Cedar Rapids. Early this year, I visited Stuart with my co-workers to see a completed, fully operational solar farm, but the one I saw today is still under construction. Solar panels are really cool, they look like what you think they look like, and they rotate according to various factors to collect the most energy and keep the solar cells clean. There’s also battery storage to consider, which is modular and capable of replacement and addition of more units.
Sometime I’d like to visit a solar farm on a day when the sun is actually shining, however, and I don’t have to hide in my winter coat.
