Battling allergies that won’t seem to quit this spring. It’s pulled out all the stops on me this year, the most frustrating of which is asthma. I’ve had asthma since about 1986, but it went into remission for at least a couple of years there, so I’m dismayed at its return.
Watched “Strange New Worlds” last night, the Captain Pike Star Trek series. It has many pluses, and a few minuses, but overall has a compelling production. I wish they would deep-six some of the more insecure aspects of the production, such as the need to have characters trying to give ‘streetwise’ lines of dialogue, and self-conscious overwrought fight scenes in every episode. Still, this is one of the stronger recent Star Trek series, and the actors in it are exceptional.
