January 5, 2023

The 5th of January could be what you might call an “anti-holiday”. There is nothing special about it, it’s just after the holidays, and the feeling that it gives is that you’re starting off with a fresh new year, so you better get on it. I’ve been getting on things, so I feel pretty good. Last night, scanned some family photos using the public library scanner (I did several of them years ago) for the project I’m working on for my half-brother.

I also finished Flowers in the Attic – I got to the last 15 minutes (audiobook) last night cooking dinner, and was nicely able to fit the ending into my last few minutes before getting out of bed this morning. As you’ve likely heard, this is a compelling read. It was about time I got around to it, too, considering it came out in 1979 and I’d been hearing about it since I was a kid. The author left just the right kind of tease at the end, too, calling readers to go on to the second book – hard to say if that one is half as good or not. If you haven’t read it, I recommend it.
